Hi everyone,
I know all my newsletter followers are fans of RPGs. I have a feeling some of you might be really interested in my new project. So here I am, once again throwing myself onto the mercy of your limited attention spans to ask you to take a look at my Next Thing.
My next RPG book, Full Send, will be coming to kickstarter toward the end of August.
Do you like climbing? Do you like tactical games? Do you like card games? What about tarot cards? If any of those are true, please have a look at the game and give the page a follow here.
Here are some things people have said about it so far:
Looking for a "no guts, no glory" game about mountain climbing? Look no further: Full Send hits you like a climber swinging into a rock face.
Perfect for climbing fans, if you liked Touching The Void or Free Solo, you’ll love this game.
O'Connel's design is, as ever, slick and smart, giving a game which is competitive, cooperative, and driven. Full Send is clever, delivering narrative freedom, tight rails, and enough crunch to keep even Lancer fans happy.
This is one of my most ambitious projects yet. It combines a really cool rules set (kind of like a hack of the card game Hearts) with long term strategy and a really diverse set of character builds. It also uses a lot of the tech I developed in my game The Witch Of The Westmoreland to build dramatic summits for your characters to climb. It hits that sweet spot of “easy to learn, hard to master” that I always look for in a good game.
In terms of production values and the type of book I want to be able to produce, it's going to be head and shoulders over anything I have done so far. (And yes, there will be limited editions for the early birds, so you're gonna want to follow the project).
As always, no advertising budget so I rely massively on my mailing list and community for support.
Following, sharing and talking about the game makes such a massive difference. I'm not just saying that. Your engagement is literally the lifeblood of what makes me able to produce games, so if you can even spare a few minutes, I'd be grateful.
Special deal for subscribers as well- if you want to be an early reader and provide a quote for the game, I'll send you the playtest documents for free! Just get in touch.
In further news:
I have some very exciting niche projects on the way, so keep an eye out.
I was at UKGE, and I'll also be at Norwich games convention, Tabletop Scotland, and hopefully Gaelcon this year! No US cons sadly.
Keep an eye out for Mausritter month, there might be something exciting coming there…
And as always, please check out the twelvepinspress.com store and order my books into your local game shop!
Best
Laurie
